@football_news857: 🚨Ferran Torres on his conversation with Ousmane Dembélé ahead of the clash against Barcelona: “Yesterday after training, Dembélé was one of the best players on the pitch, as he has always been. He looked fit, confident and happy. I walked up to him and said, ‘Dembélé, why are you always so happy when you’re about to play against Barcelona? You look like you’re enjoying it more than usual. Why?’ He smiled and said, ‘Because playing against Barcelona is something I love.’ I looked at him and said, ‘But why? That’s your former club.’ He replied, ‘Yes, and I haven’t forgotten what that club means to me. When I was struggling, Leo Messi and some of my teammates believed in me. They supported me, and I will never forget that. ‘But deep down, I felt the club never fully believed in me. Barcelona was where I wanted to spend my entire career. I wanted to prove myself there, but I wasn’t given enough time. Sometimes, you just wish people would believe in you a little longer.’ I asked him, ‘Do you still miss the people there?’ He said, ‘Of course! I still have friends at Barcelona, and I will always be happy to see them. I have nothing against the people there. ‘But winning the Ballon d’Or at Barcelona would have meant something different to me. That was the dream.’ Then he looked at me and added, ‘I love playing against them because I want to show them the player I have become. I want them to see that the boy they let go is now a completely different player.’ Honestly, his words touched me. I understood exactly what he meant because I love Barcelona too. But that is the reality of playing for Barcelona. There are so many talented players waiting for their opportunity, and sometimes you don’t get enough time to prove yourself. Football can take you away from the club you love, but it can never take away what that club means to you.”#footballnews #footballupdate #creatorsearchinsight
