My sister was diagnosed with fibromyalgia for 7 years. We found out recently that it wasn't fibromyalgia she had Lupus. Because she wasn't properly being treated for it her organs started having problems. Her immune system was so overactive that it was attacking her joints. Now she's on chemotherapy to help suppress her overactive immune system. It's so frustrating because you wanna trust your medical professionals.

Same thing happened to me. MS is a very difficult dx. I don’t blame the doctors. There’s so much about the brain and CNS we don’t know yet

My husband was also misdiagnosed. He had a disc in his neck herniated into the spinal cord, pinching it off. 4 years!!! And three doctors before it was properly diagnosed.

Best friend told the same thing( had ms) and it turned out to be tuberculosis of the bone. She suffered for over five years with it and was misdiagnosed several times including being told it was rheumatoid arthritis. Blood test before meds revealed the TB.
