Birdie :
Once again/teachers ARE NOT baby sisters, we are not nurses, we are not counselors nor psychologists. We are not bookkeepers, we are NOT there to potty train nor to teach how to tie shoes. It is absolutely RIDICULOUS that parents expect us to not only perform our curriculum duties, but also teach social skills, teach independence and how to take responsibility for their own actions. We are also expected to teach them how to use their patience and how to regulate emotions! Also, teachers are responsible for lesson plans, one on one instructions for the kiddos who are struggling BUT we are also expected to instruct at a higher level for the kiddos who are above the standard. AND, not only are classrooms overcrowded (usually 24 to 29 students), but we are also EXPECTED to accommodate for non-English speakers, behavior management (which is usually atrocious), continuous grading & posting, keeping up & training new technology, parent/teacher conferences, staff meetings, CPR/FIRST AIDE training (on our own time btw). STOP COMPLAINING about what teachers DONâT DO and step up
