I miss my chinchilla “Reggie Chinchilla”, he ate through every wire he encountered and befriended a mouse that he shared his food with. He would chill and snuggle with me and had the most incredibly soft fur. His fellow chinchilla companion had died and he was depressed when I got him but he adjusted and was a loving companion to me. If anyone is considering adopting a chinchilla I can’t stress enough how much they benefit from having a fellow chinchilla companion. So consider having at least two if you want to share your home with them.

Fostering is the best! I’m the dog foster coordinator for a local rescue and it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Yes you get attached, but knowing they get to live a life they wouldn’t have had otherwise is such a honor. It’s my privilege to let them break my heart each time. 🥹🫶

I can’t foster because I get too attached. I’m so glad people can , though. My ex and I found a stray cat whom we took home. Turns out she had two stowaways on board (she was young and we courtly.) Surprise!! Two kittens were born underneath our bed and were too cute to give away even though we already had four cats. But we had a big house and it worked out.
