@staranto92: Asked Frankie Muniz on today's Ford Racing call for his thoughts on the new Days of Thunder and if he's tried to get involved given his ties to the film industry. He was then asked later about Tom Cruise's interest in racing in ARCA given Frankie's own experience in that series. Frankie says he hasn't heard anything about being involved in the new Days of Thunder and isn't expecting to, but he recognized it makes sense while noting they'd be hiring him as a race car driver and not as an actor. "I know when it was an early, early rumor that it might happen, I think I tweeted something like 'If I'm not involved in that, there's gonna be an issue', right? Because like, you don't even need to have a stunt guy for me! I literally race in real life too! "I haven't heard anything, I'm not expecting it, you know what I mean? I don't really consider myself an actor anymore if that makes sense, so if it happens they would be hiring the race car version of Frankie Muniz, not the actor side. But it just makes sense. I've already got my SAG card, etc. "But no, I haven't heard anything. And to be honest, I haven't had time to even think about when they're filming or how that would work. I'm just focused on the racing I have left and then getting ready for next year, I know it's gonna be a busy year. But no, no Days of Thunder for me as of yet." Frankie then went on to give some expanded thoughts on the idea of Tom Cruise racing ARCA at Daytona (Credit to @mitchellb66 ). He hopes that they go through the proper steps to make sure Tom is ready for it if that happens, "But I would love to see it. I'd be there watching for sure."
