44 years old. Never diagnosed because my family doesn’t believe adhd is a thing. Now I am recognizing things in my 10 and 17 year olds. I recently had my 17 year old tested and he recently started meds. I’m working on getting my 10 year old set up for testing. But I struggle following up and his dad also doesn’t believe in it. “Structure and discipline” is what he believes. Long story short, I’m stressed and anxious that I failed my oldest by waiting so long and I don’t want to fail the youngest. All the while I’m struggling myself. And my husband believes we just need the diet, exercise and structure. 😭

for me the biggest struggle is even with medication just keeping up with life sometimes causes stress and burnout and my stress threshold is lower as someone with adhd. my cup overflows much easier. Its 100 times better with medication however I still have less stress tolerance than others and pushing yourself beyond your limits just to keep up! Thats challenging.

It requires so much effort to just keep my mind on track during a task. Ben g in the middle of something and my husband asks what I need from the store. Stopppppp I can’t stop what I’m doing rn to answer cause it’s gonna be so hard to start back where I ended

in the UK its upto 5 years or more waiting list for medication! if that was glasses you get them in a week. so what do we do then? totally failed 😞

Diagnosed with adhd at 29 years old, after becoming a mother. Now they are going back to anxciety because I was anxcious about starting medication.. like adhd and anxciety cant excist at the same time..
