Because Im seeing a lot of misinformation and misconceptions in these comments: getting a cat fixed does not change their physical ability to spray. A fixed cat is still perfectly able to physically spray or scent mark. They are just less likely to do it because of the change in their hormones after the removal of their testicles. There is no special gland that they spray from (though they do typically secree their anal glands when scent marking as well as peeing) that's removed when neutered, neutering just removes the testicles. Neutering doesn't automatically stop spraying. And that's something a lot of people don't get and assume getting their cat fixed will solve the s stent marking problem , but if your cat develops the habit and does it for too long before getting fixed, there's a good chance they will continue doing it afterwards. That being said, this cat is indeed pretend spraying and satisfying the urge to spray but not actually peeing on anything. Annoying probably but at least hes not actually spraying when he full well could.
