I had to get the hand cannon the hard way on PC as I played before mercs dropped but when I played VR on ps5 I did mercs first to have it unlocked and beat the game with it for cat ears now I can run around like an idiot for the rest

the most helpful tip I got for professional. is to always shoot in the leg. 1 shot to the leg and they stumble. then you can melee them. it may take 2 melee melee attacks to kill them. but if they are in a group of enemies that'll hurt multiple enemies with the same melee. but anyways. only 2 bullets and 2 melee and they die.

It took me 25 hours and more than 200 saves on professional to get it when the game launched. Then the mercenaries dropped and I watched my friend get it in half an hour. He had fun laughing his ass of at my expense.
