The cottage pie comments drive me insane. Even Costco calls it shepherds pie. Do you know why? BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE IN CANADA AND THE US MAKE SHEPHERDS PIE WITH BEEF. 🤷🏻♀️I will always use beef and I will always call it shepherds pie. I have never heard anyone I know call it cottage pie.

This is a genuinely curious question. What does the cream cheese do? Does it change the taste? I would like to try but my husband is used to reg butter, milk and salt:)

So I make something similar but we call it poor man’s meatloaf. Season the beef, add ketchup to make it like a sloppy Joe, layer that, the veggies, potatoes then cheese and bake until cheese is melted. My kids like it better that way.
