@mr..ramjangles: Found this in the gravel at the playground and my first thought was SHARK TOOTH. My second thought was, wait, why is the "root" full of honeycomb holes? Turns out the ridged part is the outer wall of a horn coral and the porous top is where the coral polyp actually lived. Not a shark, but older than dinosaurs. Now I can't stop checking every pile of gravel. #fyp #RockHounding #rocks #geology #WV
