🚨 BREAKING NEWS: EBOLA CONFIRMED IN ABUJA, NIGERIA! 🇳🇬⚠️ Nigeria is on alert following the Federal Government's confirmation of an imported Ebola case in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on October 20, 2026. According to reports, health authorities have identified 44 contacts for monitoring as part of efforts to prevent further transmission. ⚠️ WHAT IS EBOLA? Ebola is a serious infectious disease that can cause severe illness and death. It spreads through direct contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person who has developed symptoms, contaminated materials, or infected animals. Ebola does not spread through the air like the common cold. 🛡️ 7 WAYS TO HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF EBOLA 1️⃣ Wash your hands regularly: Use soap and clean running water, especially after using the toilet and before eating. 2️⃣ Avoid contact with body fluids: Do not touch the blood, vomit, diarrhoea, or other body fluids of anyone suspected of having Ebola. 3️⃣ Do not share contaminated items: Avoid contact with clothing, bedding, needles, or other materials that may have been contaminated by an infected person. 4️⃣ Recognise the warning signs: Symptoms may include fever, severe headache, muscle pain, weakness, vomiting, diarrhoea, and unexplained bleeding. 5️⃣ Seek medical guidance early: If you develop symptoms after possible exposure, contact health authorities immediately. Do not travel around or visit crowded places while waiting for professional guidance. 6️⃣ Avoid handling dead wild animals: Do not touch or prepare potentially infected wildlife. 7️⃣ Follow official health advice: Cooperate with health workers and contact-tracing teams. Avoid spreading unverified information or rumours. 📢 IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL NIGERIANS Do not panic, but do not ignore the warning. Ebola prevention requires public awareness, early detection, responsible behaviour, and cooperation with health authorities. If you suspect exposure or develop symptoms after possible contact with an infected person, contact the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) on 6232 for guidance. 🇳🇬 LET US PROTECT ABUJA AND THE REST OF NIGERIA!
