If you want to reach out & say you love their work - great. There’s zero need to mention the specific piece. Just “Love your work, find it really meaningful, wanted to let you know you make people feel stuff”

I think if you found him at a show or con or something, then it's ok to bring up, but I think messaging him through his website is a bit much and you don't know how he'll take it coming via a message and not face to face.

no.... don't do that... I agree with sister clearly this is something he some with love and emotion for someone they probably cared kr care for w lot and if it had been gifted to them and he himself didn't get rid of it that would really hurt
