It makes sense to me that you would raise funds for your fostering. Also, Herbert is a very sick cat, whose medical bills are probably costing a small fortune, he is very lucky to have you in his life. I also totally get why you are closing adoption requests for him, if his health does stabilize he is going to need a family who has the time, energy and finances to able to care for him as a medically complex kitty.

As someone who has rescued over 40 kittens, fostering is very expensive. The food, bedding, cleaning, etc. The rescues where I am are inundated. I pay out of my pocket TNRs for feral cats, trying to get a grasp at a colony that one day showed up on my property. So if Mallory is doing something that can offset the cost, who cares. It is very expensive to take care of kittens!

Fostering animals with significant medical issues takes lots of time. You have to pay for it somehow. It raises awareness about adopting cats and how to care for them. Those that criticize might not know how expensive, time consuming and hard it is to provide that level of care. Keep up the hard work!
