@wx.kt: Tennessee’s only F5 tornado #tornado #tennessee #weather #History #nashville

schippers4 :

I remember watching all those storms pop up and it seemed like everyone of those spawned a tornado. If I’m not mistaken , over 55 tornadoes that day

Ash 🫶🏼💖🌈🧀 :

This was the day that made me so scared of tornadoes that I learned everything I could about them for years and even at one point wanted to be a meteorologist. Still a weather nerd at 39.

SmileForLizMedia :

I remember this day vividly

Matt :

I was 3 I don't actually remember the event but remember the fear around it and I'm still terrified of them

maggiegolden :

Oh I remember this completely, terrifying

jokee581 :

There was a very strong el nino that year. Just sayin'.

M :

This was the start of East Nashville. It used to be somewhere you wouldn’t visit. Then they started rebuilding it.

AVilly :

Is this foreshadowing? 😳

Thomas Vorholt :

I was 9. School was locking down, my mom rushed over, we were some of the last allowed to be picked up. We rushed home to hide in a bathroom. My dad got stuck at his office and they were all huddled in the stair well. Some events you don’t forget.

sailor salt :

I was in Bridgestone Arena, remember it like yesterday.

And there was no sirens because they thought tornadoes couldn’t hit city areas

midnightoker :

Thanks for the history lesson. I had forgotten a lot of this. What a crazy day that was.
