Thanks for sharing about Boerboels! One little distinction… they did help protect livestock, but their job was guarding the whole farm, family, home and animals. So “farm guardian” is a more accurate description than livestock guardian dogs. 😉

I have been bitten by dogs where the owner said it’s friendly and they are okay to pet, MULTIPLE TIMES. I have NEVER been bitten by a dog where the owner said, please don’t pet them, they don’t like it. Yk why? BC. U. RESPECT. THEIR. SPACE. AND. DONT. GO. UP. TO. THEM.😭

my dog is super friendly and he looks it, so it's no surprise people wanna pet him all the time... but I don't always want people to interact with him or have their dogs interact with him, sometimes I just wanna mind my business and walk my dog when I'm not feeling super social... the amount of people that have LITERALLY FOLLOWED ME so their dog could say hi. like, I'm moving AWAY from you, why are you moving closer and closer and faster omfg

This is how I was with my corso she was very iffy on people who she didn’t know . I love how people will automatically assume aggrieve or she will attack at any given moment which isn’t true at all ! First she was a PDD she was trained to protect me I’m not gonna let just anyone come up around her knowing what she’s capable of ,second of all even if you don’t have a “ iffy “ dog you should still 100% inforce boundaries with people even if you know your dog like the back of your hand they still have limits ,and will act accordingly to what they feel in that moment owning these dogs comes with huge responsibility’s ,and aren’t for the weak .
