The system has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours. What is an Invest? An Invest is an area of disturbed weather that is under investigation for its potential to develop into a tropical cyclone. The area of convection (Invest 96A) previously located near 4.0N 57.0E has dissipated and is no longer suspect for the development of a significant tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours. Information for Moderate Tropical Storm Agueda🌀: (from JTWC) Agueda is located 1493 km east of Dar es-Salaam, Tanzania, and has tracked westward at 11 km/h (6 knots) over the past 6 hours. Maximum significant wave height is 4.3 meters (14 feet). Agueda is forecast to track generally southwestward over the next 24 hours while it remains a weak system on the northwestern edge of the shallow subtropical ridge centered to its southeast. As Agueda gains intensity, it will be less susceptible to lower-level steering and is expected to transition to deep-layer steering in around 36 hours. Simultaneously, a deep-layer subtropical ridge centered over South Africa is expected to build an eastward extension.
