Hot take: with the prices of hair services nowadays, having a few drinks or snacks as an option goes a looonnnggg way. I was paying $800+ for my vivid color, in addition to being there for about six hours, and was never once even offered a water. The chairs were super aesthetic but sooo uncomfortable. I would take Tylenol before going just so I could walk after. Loved my hair but, after paying for a luxury service without the luxury experience, I couldn’t justify it anymore after like two years.

I find this topic so weird in the comments 😭 I've been getting my hair braided for hours and never expected any of those treatments. I bring my own drink, snacks and book. I'd eat if my braider eat. Sometimes they cook if they're auntie vibe but I'd scheduled a food delivery or bring my foods

I don’t wanna sound like a Karen, but for what it’s worth hair services can be really expensive, I think a lot of people just want a little extra because they’re paying hundreds of dollars for hair services .. I don’t think it’s super crazy to expect a little more

You guys have to understand that spending money on drinks & snacks for a salon isn’t cheap. I mean hair dressers already have to use their money for bills, products for the salon, & majority of them have to pay a chair fee. Snacks & drinks alone can be up to $100+ dollars. That’s a lot of money to spend on snacks/drinks & even depending on what they get the clients most likely won’t be happy. And with how many clients they have a day every single week that $100+ on snacks/drinks could be spent every week or 2. That’s an extra $400-$500 in a month just on snacks & drinks ALONE. Not to mention how much they’re spending on the products they need & how often they have to refill. Who knows how often they have to pay that chair fee. This all adds up, so maybe take that into consideration. And if you want a snack/drink so bad & if it’s that important to you, you can buy it yourself

I have never expected my stylist or the salon to provide drinks or snacks. I know how long my appointments will take so I bring usually coffee and water and at least some crackers. but always brought my own. they once had a coffee truck on the property, so that was a nice surprise that appointment 😆
