Me: hi, I’m due a B12 injection in exactly 4 weeks can I book that in please? Receptionist: Errrm…. You need to request appointments through the app I can’t do it and you can’t book that far in advance either. Me: yeah I’ve been getting these for years I can’t book this type of appointment on the app and have to call up 4 weeks before every time so I can get an appointment for when it’s due. Receptionist: No appointments have to be requested on the app. Me: not these kinds of appointments I do this song and dance every few months I need an appointment booking by you. Receptionist: let me pop you on hold a second *on hold for approximately 3 minutes* erm hi…. Yeah so I can see your due your next dose in 4 weeks but I have no appointments that day and can’t book you in any earlier not even the day before you’re due so the best I can do is 5 weeks from next Friday is that ok? Me: it’s gonna throw the whole 12 week cycle out of whack but I suppose I have no other choice do I so I’ll take it. Receptionist: you should ring up earlier than 4 weeks in advance in future. Me: *smacks head against the wall*. Day before appointment (if I’m lucky if not it’s day of) and a text arrives saying my appointment has been rescheduled for next week as my nurse is off sick 🤯🤯🤯

this is why i semi prefer the online request, although it drives me crazy having to make sure I have answers that dont trigger it to say call 999 or go to a&e when I know i dont need to do that and I just need a gp review

Can’t get a doctors appointment so I got that ill I ended up in hospital who then said why didn’t you go to your GP before it got this bad 🤣

me: hi! my ears fully blocked and I cant hear anything out of it. im also very prone to ear infections as written on my record so can I have an appointment? receptionist: okay well im gonna refer you to BOOTS to see if it'll save you from going here. my mam went to boots and was told by the pharmacist to get me into doctors because its their job not the pharmacists

my old GP was amazing... when I could get past the ogres at the desk🤣🤣 I ended up leaving that GP surgery purely because of the receptionists they were AWFUL

put a request in for an appointment cause i was certain i had a chest infection. they sent me a questionnaire to fill out which i did. got a phone call saying “doctor doesn’t think you have a chest infection because you don’t have a fever”. told them that last time i had one i also didn’t have a fever. they called me the next day to give me an appointment. doctor didn’t even listen to my chest. i had a coughing fit and she said “yeah. you have a chest infection”. so why did i just get an appointment to begin with 😭

Mines been harrassing me 🤣 yes i know im over due but cant help needing surgery and not physically able to come in 🤣 and we have to use online forms and they decide then 🤣

Our son was in the NICU with sepsis and a pneumothorax for a month, was in and out of children’s hospital for first six months of his life with breathing problems and another pneumothorax. Doctors refused to see him several times after which resulted in us in the hospital each time. The head nurse of children’s a&e ended up getting fed up with our doctors and raised a complaint with them for negligence and lack of care. And what a surprise, next time we called the doctors we got an appointment straight away for him🙄🙄🙄

I was quite lucky I’ve seen them 3 times over the last 2 days (not by choice) 😂 the joys of having bad asthma and the chest doesn’t like the colder weather 😂

Outpatient scheduler in the US for a rural hospital. This is the worst time of year for us. We cant hang up fast enough, before we get another call. Then we get screamed at because we have no openings for weeks already. Come on December 31st! [Embarrassed] when Deductibles and out of pockets restart.
