So this maybe silly, but after bills and groceries, I divided what’s left of how many days we have left for payday and if we don’t spend that money that was allowed for each day, it goes into savings. 😊

Driving better. Not pulling out so fast going a bit slower. Also combined trips. My gas mileage improved a lot

I have started thrift shopping for my clothes because I can get good quality for less than retail and keep items out of the landfill. it takes time to sift through the crap and find the higher quality items.

A pen and paper budget, no spend day/week/month, shopping only one day a week for groceries/Amazon. BUT… I’m not giving up my paper towels lol!!! 😂

Every time I want to buy something that's not a necessity or budgeted for, I have to put an equal amount of the cost towards a debt or in to savings. So if I want to hit a drive through and it'll cost me say $11.45 for my food, then I also have to put $11.45 towards a debt or savings goal. It's both helped me evaluate how badly I want something if it costs me double the money and helped me pay off my debt a lot faster

Shopping and meal prepping based on what's on sale at the store. I've saved so much money doing this. Kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

moving what ever is left from checking to savings at a new pay period even if its 1 cent. I was amazed at how quickly even Penny's grow. if I budget a specific amount for an adventure and I come in under budget I put it in savings. I threw girl math out the window bc I realized it was giving me an excuse to spend money that didnt need to spent I was just spending it bc I had left overs.

I stopped eating out, especially those little trips through the drive-through for fast food while out and about. I looked at my budget app and realized we had months where we spent over $1,000 😳 just grabbing something here and there because we didn’t want to wait until we got home and cooked a meal. Now we plan ahead and make sure to eat before we go out and have something waiting (like in the crockpot) when we get back home.

Last year, I saw someone track the number of days per month they spend money. I thought it was a little ridiculous until I tried it myself. I’ve been tracking my spending days since January and now I’m at the point where I challenge myself to see how long I can go without spending money. It’s helped me reign in my impulse spending and it’s helped me plan my weekly household restocks and grocery shopping better. It’s been a life changer.

My cases of water. I couldn't do it or thought I couldn't do it. I got a Brita. It really saves money and the water tastes better. 🥰 And cancelling my subscriptions. Good free movies on tubi, Pluto and Philo. I pay for Philo but now I have ONE subscription.🥰

Paying myself 1st then bills 2nd. Everything after that is play money which relieves stress. Investing is already done before I do anything else with paycheck. Also dont feel guilty of spending whats left which is about $1k per week

Opening a separate bank account from our bills for monthly spending has saved us sooo much money! It opened my eyes to our daily spending. Can’t live without it now.

It’s silly but I quit dying my hair and getting my nails done. I look a hot mess but I just don’t care. I have to get ahead of myself finances. It can be embarrassing doing my hair to go somewhere but I don’t need to impress anyone.

I stopped buying seasonal decor. I have plenty of Christmas stuff already. I don’t have the time and energy to change out my decor for each holiday.
