In theory it all works, longer gaps, zipper merge vs single lane, roundabouts, etc. Then you add the human element and it all goes out the window.

The funniest thing I’ve noticed are people who leave that big gap will still pretty much hard brake to get that gap again and it’ll still keep happening either way 😂

I always leave a gap in traffic. Honestly I don’t understand why people are up the ass of the car in front of them. I prefer a smooth, calm ride-not hitting my gas and brake pedal repeatedly. Also I just don’t get why people see cars slowing down or stopped in front of them and accelerate only to slam on the brakes a few seconds later.

if people just follow slower traffic stay to the right. also merge to the exit lane 2 exits before your exit (and if you miss it just take the next one) life would be better.
