@josh_neille: Crikey Moses, legends! Check out this beautiful tawny frogmouth we’ve had come into care. 🦉 This poor little fella was hit by a car and took a big knock to the head. One of his eyes has some internal bleeding, so every day we’re treating it with special medicated drops and doing everything we can to restore his vision, save the eye and hopefully get him back where he belongs — out in the wild. 🤞🏼🌿 Because he’s spent his entire life in the wild and hasn’t been hand-reared, he certainly knows how to put on a performance! One minute he’s stretched out pretending to be a stick, and the moment I walk in, he puffs himself up, makes himself look as big and intimidating as possible and opens that enormous mouth. Luckily, that makes feeding time pretty easy! 😂 He’s just smashed down a whole mouse, so it’s a pretty good little trade-off. The mice cause me heaps of drama around the animal hospital, but once they’re caught, they go straight towards helping the wildlife in our care. Nothing goes to waste out here, legends! Hopefully this tough little tawny continues improving and gets his second chance back in the bush. ❤️🦉 #TawnyFrogmouth #WildlifeRescue #WildlifeRehabilitation #AustralianWildlife #NativeWildlife
