They’ll argue with you but as a DV attorney, this is exactly how it starts. Even if that specific person doesn’t become physically abusive, it conditions you to accept harmful behaviors and normalize abusive behavior in adulthood. Also, your hair looks fabulous.

Is it the “demanding” part that’s not acceptable? So if there were something on that phone, your son’s phone that was incriminating when it comes to the relationship…… you’re still on his side? I agree in a dating world. A married world. A Christian world. We’re one flesh, we hold no secrets, we still have autonomy but also share everything. 🤷🏻♀️

While I partially agree finding out someone is cheating isn’t abuse. It’s abuse to be cheating and staying with the person you’re cheating on. If my kids find out their bf/gf are cheating by their phone so be it say good bye bc you don’t deserve that.

Agree completely my husband and I never would of looked through each other’s phones. I didn’t know his password or he mine. A couple of times in a hospital stay we had to get in each other’s phones and it was no big deal to give the pass but we completely trusted one another

I do also feel we need to be teaching them conflict resolution. Too much as an adult I expieriance even friendships that end over a disagreement. I do think we need to teach them resilience and conflict resolution and to know when to stay and work it out and when it's time to walk away

I facilitate healthy dating workshops for adults who support teens and teens, location sharing is always in the unhealthy column! There is no reason for, it shows control. As you said teen dating is for fun but it’s also for learning what’s acceptable and what’s not under parent supervision! So no.
