@laitfitz: @Welles has written the modern day “your flag decal won’t get you into heaven anymore” not an easy feat. Dealing with visceral, consequential, national issues, with tongue firmly in cheek. Poignant and funny is not an easy trick to turn, but he seems to have a natural knack for it. This isn’t the first and won’t be the last. But, I think this is his best, so far. When you go after power you best not miss, this one is a direct hit, that you can’t help but chuckle through. #jessewelles #johnprine #protest

Roadkill :

Nerd reich is SUCH a banger, thanks for the cover ☺️☺️

lalooo :

It would’ve been nice if he said any of this on his Joe Rogan episode ya know the guy who’s friends with Peter thiel and basically swung the election for trump but hey good song ig

Partninja :

it is so freaking good

NellyOnTheBeat :

It’s cus most protest music is just so corny like people forget it still has to be a good song if it wants to stand the test of time not just relevant rn

Just Josh :

You’re going to have to be more specific, wells has got about 100 bangers that fit that description

coulsongmcc0 :

John prines flag decal is perfect

user6820755186379 :

I thought "the boys" had lobster and steak a few months ago 🤔

Laurel Rocks Farm :

The fact that the John Prine song is just as relevant now too, though.

CPeloquinmusic :

Saw him at Farm Aid this year, nobody seems to let songwriting come with them with the ease it comes to him, not to diminish the work he puts into it, but he makes it seem like having a dream and writing down the words

Nolan :

Some of my favorite songs like that are Home on the rage and apocalypse never by Nick shoulders

Y :

I hope this one gets on Spotify soon, it would be very convenient

Simul Astra :

Rolls eyes

GwalothBoot-Nasty :

I like this cover better, thank u

Ricky :

Actually think it’s one of his lesser song in terms of songwriting but that’s a really high bar

Only.trill :

Lord I get tirrrred

J_dawg :

lucky :

Rip kirky

deceitfuladvocate :

for me protest songs make me roll my eyes because theres no word play. I'm not asking for you to hide all your messages and make leftist dog whistles but you're many revolutionary songs try to be both a palatable song and "the revolutionary will not be televised" and you can't have your cake and eat it too. write a song or a statement peace don't water down the impact by being both

Starbarks :

Jesse is an American treasure.
