The islamic Dilemma
The Qur'an tells Christians to judge by the Gospel (5:47), tells the People of the Book to stand by the Torah and the Gospel (5:68), and even tells Muhammad that if he is in doubt, he should ask those who have been reading the Scriptures before him (10:94).
But this creates a dilemma. If the Torah and Gospel had already been corrupted before or during the 7th century, then Allah was commanding people to follow corrupted Scriptures and even directing Muhammad to consult them. That would make no sense for an all-knowing God.
If, on the other hand, the Torah and Gospel were still reliable, then the Qur'an runs into conflict with them on central doctrines such as the crucifixion of Jesus, His divine Sonship, His identity, and salvation through Him. The Qur'an cannot both affirm these Scriptures and contradict their core message.
The dilemma becomes even stronger because the Qur'an itself declares, "None can change the words of Allah" (6:115; 18:27). If the Torah and the Gospel are the revealed words of Allah, then they cannot be corrupted in the way many Muslims claim. Saying they were changed directly conflicts with the Qur'an's own teaching.
The Qur'an also gives Jesus unique titles and attributes that point far beyond a mere prophet. He is called the Word of Allah and a Spirit from Him (4:171). He creates from clay and gives life by Allah's permission (3:49; 5:110), forgives sins, performs miracles, and is described as the Messiah. These descriptions are remarkably consistent with the Bible's presentation of Christ. As a result, the Qur'an ends up preserving key truths about Jesus even while attempting to deny His divinity and crucifixion, creating a significant internal tension.
The quran confirms the torah and gospel while at the same time contradicting them at the same time which means the quran is false because it confirms something that goes against their own book.
