I'd really like a carrie adaptation set in the 90s (not a sequel) there are some really interesting moments in time for how the "girl bully" evolved that could be looked at and I could also see her mom being deep in one of the churches that was obsessed with diet culture

So originally this was going to be a stand alone movie called ‘The Curse.’ Same plot just no connection to Carrie but when someone pointed out that it was basically a Carrie ripoff, the studio bought the rights to Carrie and they changed it to be a sequel.
