@kyserblade68: William Reaves Jr. was executed in Florida on October 20, 2026, nearly 40 years after the 1986 killing of Indian River County Deputy Richard Raczkowski. Reaves, 77, was pronounced dead at 6:12 PM ET following lethal injection at Florida State Prison. The case dates back to a deadly encounter outside a Vero Beach convenience store, where Deputy Raczkowski responded to a call for service. During that interaction, Reaves and the deputy struggled over a gun, and Deputy Raczkowski was shot multiple times as he tried to get away. He later died from his injuries, leaving behind loved ones and a community that never forgot his name. In the final hours leading up to the execution, there were renewed debates over justice, mercy, and the death penalty. Supporters of clemency pointed to Reaves’ age, military background, and reported PTSD from his service in Vietnam. Others believed the sentence should stand because of the brutal loss of a law enforcement officer who never made it home. When asked if he had any final words, Reaves reportedly said, “No, I do not.” At 6:12 PM, the sentence was officially carried out. This case has stirred strong reactions across social media, with many people divided over whether justice was finally served or whether too much time had passed for the execution to mean anything at all. One thing is certain — the name Deputy Richard Raczkowski is once again being remembered tonight, and so is the tragedy that changed so many lives forever. Do you believe this execution brought justice after all these years, or do you think the death penalty should never be used no matter the crime? #WilliamReavesJr #FloridaExecution #DeathPenaltyDebate #TrueCrimeCommunity #JusticeForDeputyRaczkowski
