I still have nightmares around what exec leadership did to me. Eventually was booted from my job. After 600 job apps I’ve given up looking for a new position . I’ve gone from a 6 figure job to dogsitting—I’ll be lucky to make $8k this year. Humiliating

This has happened to me. I think I walk into meetings with a genuine collaborative and collegial spirit and always for the greater good of my employer. But, I think this can be misread for showing off or grandstanding. Taking time to get stakeholder engagement can sometimes help

Thanks. I needed these kind words. I spoke too much about things that weren’t right , and I was terminated last week after bringing it up. First I was placed on 3 weeks admin leave. No access to my laptop or phone. Told I cannot speak to my team. I was interviewed, never told what the complaint was and terminated on Friday.

Thank you for speaking on this 🖤 My inner critic has never been so loud! I feel like I’m failing, but the data says otherwise. My department and I doubled revenue, utilization and member growth this year, but most anything I do is met with criticism. I was yelled at and berated in front of our entire office (with other companies inside). There’s always an excuse to not bonus me. I feel the axe looming daily.

Go make money and don’t do things beyond your salary. Some organizations actually encourages you to be innovative and do things way beyond your swim-lane and duties and they’re equally toxic, as a matter of fact even more malicious. Before I joined the corporate world I learned earlier to code switch and not help build someone’s dream beyond of what I agreed on when I signed my contract. And because of that I was also bullied out lol.
