my 68 yo mother thinks that once her intentions are "good" nothing she evet does is bad. after telling her that picking up a chair a throwing it across the room at me when I was a child is abuse no matter what she thinks, she then decided that I must have done something to deserve it. you can't win with these children that never grew up. full detachment and low contact has been so peaceful this year.

This broke my partner and I up, it becomes impossible to ever talk about my way of thinking or feeling about something as they see it as an attack or completely dismiss and challenge if it doesn’t match theirs. I didn’t understand for so long what he wasn’t getting and why we had so much conflict about such normal things. It’s a really tough.
