Before we start shouting, let’s ask one simple question: WHO ACTUALLY RUNS THE COUNTRY? 👀🇿🇦 JACINTA ZUMA Doesn’t run Home Affairs. Jesita doesn’t determine who is legally in South Africa, who qualifies for asylum, or who should be deported. That responsibility belongs to the government and the relevant authorities. For months, we’ve heard that foreigners are undocumented and that undocumented people make it difficult to identify criminals. Now Home Affairs is doing what government is supposed to do verify, capture information and determine people’s legal status. Asylum seekers are already subject to a formal process, including registration and biometric capture. Documentation is not the same thing as automatically granting citizenship. And here is the part I find interesting… If the government is handling the documentation, verification and enforcement, why are ordinary people being expected to become immigration officers on the streets? 😂 If someone is undocumented, let Home Affairs establish it. If someone committed a crime, let the police investigate it. If someone has no legal right to remain, let the government follow the law and deal with it. Even the South African government has said that immigration enforcement is the responsibility of the State not individuals or community groups. So perhaps the real question isn't simply “Why are foreigners here?” Maybe we should also be asking: “What is government doing about the problems, and are the solutions actually working?” 👀 You can disagree with me.
