@landmarksofny: Did you know that the Statue of Liberty has an Eiffel Tower holding it up? Gustav Eiffel was brought into the project to ensure the statue could hold up the over 176,000 pounds of copper. The statue was completed in 1886 while Eiffel’s more work in Paris was completed three years later in 1899 giving him a hand in the most iconic landmarks in both cities.
