the darkest theory is that Pavi and Nisha aren't the first avatar(s) after Korra, and there was at least one cycle between, with every avatar either living their life hiding from he world, or being killed when discovered.

I think it’s a spirit realm thing. Korra opened the spirit realm and went into it at the end of korra. That could’ve extended her life span if she stayed there. If not it also could’ve been some time manipulation thing, time running differently in the spirit realm then in the real world. She could’ve been in the spirit realm for like 40-50 years to year but like 100-200 in real time.

Just made a video bout that. I think korra died 8 years ago or that time jump didn’t happen because there is no way if the world ended 200 years ago all the old relics especially a radio still fresh and working

I like the idea of Korra fighting back a world ending threat on her own for 200 years and finally releasing Vaatu from within herself and Raava in a desperate bid for help. They’re the first known account of an avatar incarnate being (successfully, remembering Roku’s stillborn sibling) born as twins. Imagine they have two pieces of Vaatu between them, one tending toward order and the other toward chaos. Maybe they can’t even enter the Avatar State because of it, unless they do it together. I doubt this is going to be the case, but damn would I love the catharsis of the twins meeting a weary Korra who is only too happy to see them. Imagine the joy she would feel at being met by not one, but TWO other Avatars who came to help her shoulder her burdens. I hate to say it, but maybe they soon after witness her pass away and both become fully realized Avatars as Raava splits herself among them as well. Idk bud I just hope whatever we get is satisfying (and I want Korra to not be slandered to infinity and beyond.)

Or the 4th option of there were actually 4 avatars between them but no one realized they were avatars and either all died around age 50 or 2 or even 3 died really young

My favorite theory is that they got trapped in the Spirit World, and the timescale means more time passed for them. So Korra really did just recently died, but for the real world she had lived a normal life.

Or the darker answer of the avatars between Korra and the twins never survived for long. BUT OVERALL, I believe the most likely answer is cycle changed or was slightly disrupted as raava & vaatu regained strength from whatever the fuck happened ontop of what happened within the plot of TLoK.

We all saw Korra walk into the spirit world I think she stayed there and lived for 200 yrs and then finally eventually passed away and the twins were born. The body dies and the soul is reincarnated.

I'd discard option 2. We already know that Pavi and Nisha's parents communicated with Ellora before Karthik found them, this means their parents are contemporary with the 7 havens, I doubt al 4 of them were kept in statis for 200 years. If the parents were alive a few tesrs Ago, I think the only option is that they were born recently aswell

Korra couldn't have found the technique cause we dont know what happen to the guy the kyoshi learned it from and Aang was again frozen. my old theory was they were thrown forward in time. But with how the current episodes are. idk if it holds up
