as a white man it takes 30 seconds to wash my hair. maybe 2 minutes if you leave the conditioner in for a bit. calling it "wash day" is ridiculous. even if you dye your hair and use a hair mask thats only 20min to a couple hours depending on what it is. nowhere near the amount of time im assuming black hair requires.

And it’s such a ‘so you hate waffles’ statement. It’s so irritating to not be able to do something as a black person that doesn’t fit into someone else’s idea of what it is to be black. And way too many of these types of arguments start from people that don’t put two seconds of thought behind their words😐

even down to the the product oh my god 😭 i had hair down my back and it DRANK conditioner, i had to replace several products at least once a month or 6 weeks. i have 2 teaspoons of hair now and havent bought a new conditioner in like 6 months.

As a black girl who had a relaxer for 4 years it’s it lower maintenance than my natural hair but still took a lot of effort to maintain and to keep healthy. I think a relaxer is still more maintenance than most straight yt hair

i have to get treatments to make my hair more manageable because of my disabilities and my arms can’t do that anymore. I can’t do anything more than unbraid and detangle my hair. Everything else is done by a stylist because i PHYSICALLY CANT DO IT EVEN WITH THE TREATMENT

No bc washing my hair and getting that all done in a day can take a few hours 😭 if I want to style it same day ?? Girl I’ll be at it forever too. It’s especially exhausting when I get dizzy and have problems with my legs. Wash day is a whole process and I’ve made it easier for myself over time. Having a low maintenance style isn’t a problem, some people need that !! Using a relaxer is making it the easiest thing imaginable because it’s incredibly low effort for what you have to do to your hair

It took me 6 years to find a routine and products that fits my hair takes me 2 hours to take my hair down in braids and it take me 4 hours to wash detangle and styling my hair 😩
