I wish we had tension with her. She seems so static now compared to the ice goddess we were experiencing in Inazuma. Like the weekly quests are just so out of place. I get the children of the hearth since the war started and the children soldiers being trained aren’t going to make it in time to be soldiers. But like… she still is not a good person.

People need to realise that clothes matter a whole lot when it comes to character design and that clothes portray a character’s personality A LOT, as well as their authority. For example: That’s why it feels better to look at a secretive character that’s dressed mysteriously. If a character has a lot of authority they should have something that conveys that, like shoulder pads to make them look bigger/ badges/ capes etc. And in the Tsaritsa‘s case she’s a god of love with no love left to give, and her clothes do not convey that. Her clothes should be much thicker to convey her closed off demeanor and the colors should be darker to make her look colder and more serious.

It’s probably cause long dresses are more formal than short dresses which is why historically typically royalty is expected to wear long formal dressing for events or daily use ? I’m lowkey having the issue of like Capitano was fucking COVERED and Pierro is like formal so why is the Tsarista looking like semi-formal 😭

her being a hypocrite doesn’t even equal being evil and that’s my issue. they did the same thing with sandrone. her being a little mean isn’t “oh she’s a villain!” it just seems like a cop out to give them a reason to lash out without really making them actual bad people.

Yeah, the reason why many (including me) believe that her hypocrisy and flaws are unintentional is because nobody calls it out. The traveler, Columbina, Rokot members, and other characters who had conflicts with the Tsaritsa and Fatui just seem to nod along with whatever she’s saying and even make excuses for her themselves. Like Vodyanitsa’s grievances with her were resolved almost immediately after they were introduced, before the Tsaritsa even appeared in game. The complete lack of push back or friction coming from anyone else is why is doesn’t seem like a deliberate writing choice and more like they are just trying to make her as palatable as possible. I could be wrong, maybe there’s an actual reason that comes into play later but I highly doubt it.

They also have a habit of wanting to give a character flaws that would make them morally questionable, but not following through on proper consequences for the actions these characters. so even if they did mean to make her a hypocrite would it really matter since she’d face no repercussions for it in the story at all 😭

People are complaining about the Tsaritsa for the same reason they complained about Columbina. How are you going to make a headcanon in your head that an archon, a being you naturally gravitate towards since you’ve befriended 5 others (traveler never met Foçalors, and Furina is not the hydro archon or Foçalors), is going to be either evil in general or mean to you at all? Like Columbina, just because she smiling, singing, leaning on Rosalyne’s coffin, how can you draw up the conclusion she’d turn out to be a dark character? In fact, the reverse is true; we figured out her intention by acting that way. I’m sure it was meant as a gesture to calm Rosalyne’s soul in death and express her sorrow in melody. Good lord, the fandom hates reading, but loves jumping through hoops and conclusions.
