@smokingmeat: Celebrities Pack Madison Square Garden as the Knicks Celebrate Their First Championship in 53 Years It was an unforgettable and star-studded night at Madison Square Garden. The New York Knicks opened their new season against the Philadelphia 76ers, but the most emotional moment happened before tip-off. For the first time in 53 years, the franchise raised an NBA championship banner into the rafters. Finals MVP Jalen Brunson and his teammates officially received their championship rings after defeating the San Antonio Spurs this past summer. The historic ceremony drew some of the team’s biggest celebrity superfans to courtside seats. Ben Stiller, Mariska Hargitay, Spike Lee, and Bon Jovi were all there to take in the action, while Harry Styles appeared on the Jumbotron. The emotional season opener capped off a massive summer of celebrations for the franchise. Following their June parade in Manhattan, star center Karl-Anthony Towns got married in Malibu. Meanwhile, Brunson has been making moves off the court. He recently became the first Knick to ever host Saturday Night Live, and he is slated to guest star on Law & Order: SVU alongside Hargitay. Do you think the Knicks have what it takes to win another title this season? #NewYorkKnicks #NBA #JalenBrunson #MadisonSquareGarden #Basketball
