I don't mean to scare you about maternity pay... But I wish someone had shown me these numbers before I had my son👇🏼 Nappies for the month - £40 Formula (if you're not breastfeeding) - £50 Food shop - £100+ per week Phone bill - £30 A tank of petrol - £70 That's around £590. Out of roughly £840 maternity pay for the month. You haven't paid your rent or mortgage. You haven't covered your gas, electric or council tax. You haven't bought clothes, wipes, anything else your baby needs. That's what so many new mums are expected to survive on while also being told to "soak up every second" of maternity leave. I remember sitting at home with my son, doing the maths over and over, wondering how I was supposed to enjoy such a precious time while constantly worrying about money. I wasn't looking to get rich. I wasn't trying to replace my salary overnight. I just wanted enough extra income to stop checking my bank account every day. But I also couldn't face the thought of going back to work before I was ready, missing time with my son just to make ends meet. That's when I came across another mum selling digital products from her phone while she was at home with her baby. She wasn't an influencer. She was just an ordinary mum who'd learned a new skill and built an income around her family. I'll admit... I was sceptical. I doubted myself. But staying exactly where I was felt scarier than trying something new. So I used nap times and a couple of evenings to learn how it all worked. What started as hoping to earn a few hundred pounds on maternity leave has completely changed my life. 🤍Almost £7,000 earned this year alone from my phone 🤍Quit my 9-5 🤍More time with my son 🤍Now earning more than I did in my full-time job 🤍Options and flexibility I never thought I'd have If you're on maternity leave and the numbers just aren't adding up... You're not failing. The system simply wasn't designed for us🤍 Comment MATERNITY or send me a DM and I'll send you my free guide on how to get started ✨
