@aussiemammoth1: Two brothers. Both died alone. Both spent months in a morgue, unclaimed. One died in a stairwell and wasn’t found until it was too late. No family could be located. The other was just 40 years old. Homeless. He died from a contagious disease with nobody around him. For two months, he lay in a morgue, unclaimed. But today, we all came out because we are his family. These are our brothers, and we came to give them their rights. Alhamdulillah, I was honoured and blessed to pray their janazah, make du’a for them and bury them here in a Muslim cemetery in New Jersey. We were even able to prepare a lahd within their graves and lay them to rest with dignity. Now they lie side by side. As we placed the dirt over them, the dust stayed on our hands. SubhanAllah. Today, our hands carry the dust. One day, our bodies will be beneath it. My brothers and sisters, every single soul counts. Having nobody to claim you does not take away your right to be honoured. To my brother Ibn Turab and every brother and sister who came out, may Allah bless and reward you all. May Allah forgive our brothers, have mercy upon them, illuminate their graves and grant them Jannatul Firdaus. May this be a witness for us on the Day of Judgment.
