Anthropic will be the first to lose total control of their agents, I think. If the IPO doesn't go well, and I think it'll be similar or worse than SPCX, they'll get reckless with their strategy. I just read today that there's no human code left at Anthropic, it's 100% written by Claude now, and that there's a push internally to reduce even more oversight in the name of advancement and speed. Funny story about AOL. They actually invented and owned the tech that created the third party cookie. In the later 2000’s they tried to sue ValueClick for using the cookie. They wanted to recoup their value loss. They eventually lost their lawsuit because the cookie had been used without pushback by many companies for many years. Can you imagine what would have happened if they never lost that lawsuit? It would have changed the internet, data collection and usage and tech companies. We would quite possibly be living in a different tech world had that lawsuit ended differently.

This is misleading. Anthropic has to book the loss at the valuation they are trying to achieve. It doesn’t mean that the company is actually worth that much.

If the list is because of depreciation they still do have a loss even though the cash didn’t leave the business. Cos depreciation is their largest expense since it’s from the purchase of their non current assets like chips and infrastructure etc
