Had a body tech tell me once that a Subaru with any kind of hatch/rear gate is something you don’t want to hit the back of. He said the frame around the rear gate is basically like a roll cage.

Same. Got hit at 55 MPH at a dead stop… they totaled their dodge charger and all the airbags deployed on their car. It was so hard that it dented the back of my trunk.

I’m on my third Subaru (crashed 2. Both not my fault) and I’d stick with Subaru forever. Came out unhurt both times

I work in the collision industry. This is why we traded in our cars and got 2 Subarus. Your vehicle might be a total if there is rail damage but if so get another Subaru. It did its job as intended.

Def get it checked out. Was rear ended at a red light, my outback looked fine, other car not so much. My frame was actually bent bc they are made to absorb the impact by crumpling. 5k later she was good to go but never would have known looking at it.
