Remembering the human isn't just about the person standing across from you. It's also about the person staring back at you in the mirror. The person who has made mistakes. The person carrying regrets. The person who has been hurt, judged, misunderstood, or made to feel unworthy. Recognizing your own humanity doesn't mean excusing your mistakes. It means holding yourself accountable without forgetting that you still deserve dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to grow. And when we learn to recognize our own imperfections, perhaps we become a little less eager to condemn the imperfections of others. You don't have to love everything you see in the mirror.
