Preparing for your First TCA Chemical Peel: 13% TCA Chemical Peel from Platinum Skincare I'll be adding the Luminosity Booster Platinum Skincare website is in my bio. You want a minimum of four weeks to prepare your skin. Preparation is a well-rounded daily skincare routine (details coming next) and a couple superficial chemical peels (2-4 alpha hydroxy chemical peels - mandelic, lactic or glycolic, once a week or once every other) Skincare routine example outline: AM: cleanser soothing toner antioxidant serum melanin inhibitor moisturizer spf PM: double cleanse soothing toner chemical exfoliant OR retinoid hydrating serum melanin inhibitor moisturizer My exact skincare routine is in my Shopmy (linked in my bio) but there's many ways to prepare successfully. You just want to cover these bases: Hydrate: Hydrating Serum or Toner, Moisturizer Protect: Soothing Serum or Toner, Antioxidant Serum, SPF Prime: Chemical exfoliation, Retinoid, Melanin Inhibitor Once you have your daily skincare down: You'll do an Alpha Hydroxy Chemical Peel once a week OR once every other week. Goal: do two AHA peels before your TCA Why?: It's good practice (application protocol is almost identical to TCA protocol) It eases your skin into being able to handle the deeper exfoliation of a TCA treatment. (that being said - the AHA peels aren't 100% necessary - I just highly recommend) Which Alpha Hydroxy Peel should you choose: Mandelic - safe for all skin types (my favorite) Lactic - good choice for dry, sensitive skin Glycolic - good choice for thicker/resilient skin Important: This is all only applicable to you IF your skin is healthy
