When u start opening up about your relationship issues to other people, be prepared to deal with consequences of how your relationship will be perceived even after resolving your issues with your partner. The impact will be huge in a long term

Isolation is a form of “Manipulation”

Love is blind. Getting an outside opinion from a trusted person can help you notice issues you are too dizzy to notice or help you see that issues you’ve manipulated yourself into believing are ok are actually toxic.

People say it’s manipulative but the fact still remains that if you discuss your relationship problems with more than one person you’re not looking for solutions, you’re seeking ATTENTION.

Even the courts are not influenced by public opinion, the grand jury are isolated individuals, even God would isolate you just to work on you and the most intimate and honest space will always be in isolation it’s not manipulation

😂 manipulation in this context then becomes a double edged sword in the sense that if your partner isn't grounded in their conviction then we can also say those who he/she sort advice from manipulated him/her 🤷🏽♂ dating GOOD people comes with the understanding that their intent isn't malicious so you wouldn't reduce the 1v1 engagement to "being isolated"....i swear I'm not giving a biased take just cause...she's cooking 💀 advice is not all bad but should also be taken with a grain of salt, sometimes people are giving it from a place of projecting their unfortunate life events or their take is biased, they're intent is to just protect your image/feelings despite you being in the wrong, OR you gave a tweaked version of the disagreement in your favor so that they look at you as the victim 🤷🏽♂ but i hear you Romeo...sinister partners do exist

I don’t think people can necessarily convince another person how to feel, they can only validate it.

I think knowing who to talk to is key. A person that will jump to the worst conclusions with you, fail to correct you, won’t see the other person’s perspective etc isn’t going to be much help

A_Connoisseur_Of_The_World :
Saying "isolation is a manipulation" is twisting her words. What she is saying is that you should be able to communicate your feelings and what you want. If you rely on external forces, they then bring their relationship problems into our relationship through you: "I'm not dealing with you as a person, I'm dealing with them."

That would be the same as invalidating psychology, no? Some people don’t know how to put to words the hurt they’ve experienced, and thus need someone to help them pack it up properly.

even how you explain your relationship to others it's always from a biased perspective so now you not really relaying the actual situation so the people you confide in only get a chance to cater to your bias of the whole issue

She’s is right. She is not saying isolate someone during conflict but let’s not go outside for outside opinions. Let’s deal with it right there and then - as me and you.

Yeah, she’s right on that one.
Other people can only advise you from the world they’ve lived in their heartbreaks, their insecurities, their wins. So they end up telling you how " they "would feel, not how "you " should feel.
And in relationships that’s dangerous, because no two people face the exact same challenges. Same situation, different histories, different triggers, different love languages.
It’s good to listen, but at the end you have to filter it: take the wisdom, leave the projection. The only two experts on your relationship are the two people actually in it.❤️
