ROBERT MCGREGOR INVERNESS CHILD RAPE AND 2026 RELEASE In 2017, ROBERT MCGREGOR of INVERNESS was sentenced to a 10-year custodial term for grooming, raping, and filming multiple young boys. This case follows a major police investigation into a depraved 13-year campaign of child sexual abuse committed across the Inverness area between 2001 and 2014. McGregor systematically manipulated the trust of local families to gain access to their children, targeting three victims. His youngest victim was a vulnerable three-year-old boy with no speech, whom he filmed raping. A second victim was subjected to nearly a decade of abuse starting from the age of six, and a third child victim was assaulted at the age of 12. Police apprehended McGregor after uncovering a vast digital cache containing over 2,000 indecent photos and 899 videos of extreme abuse. Forensic analysis revealed he filmed the rapes for his own gratification and broadcast the footage to a global network of paedophiles via a peer-to-peer internet application. Following his release from prison under automatic terms, it has been confirmed that he has returned to live on the outskirts of Inverness to receive family support.
