I asked my grandfather in law to stop talking about me, he’s such a gossiper… everything I say or do, he tells his friends, everything. Well, he lost his mind that I asked him this and set this boundary, that he said he’d never talk about me ever again and I was “dead to him.” But yeah, it’s a manipulation tactic that I saw right through. He’s an old-school misogynist man — thinks women should be a certain way, whatever way that is 🙄 If anything, I feel bad for him, I think of him completely different… I lost all respect for him. It sucks. It’s just sad that him, and a lot of men, especially older generation men, are so close minded, shallow and emotionally weak.

Someone saying 'Fine, I'll never joke again' can be manipulation. It can also be immaturity, sarcasm, hurt feelings, or poor communication.The real red flag is assuming an entire sex uses the same psychological tactic.That's not insight. That's stereotyping.
