I know he is!” I looked toward the front of the plane, trying to see through the rows of seats. All I could see were the backs of passengers’ heads and a flight attendant standing near the galley. For one beautiful second, I believed Mason was right. Maybe Tyler had spotted us after all. Maybe someone at the gate had told him. Perhaps he was about to turn our secret surprise into the most beautiful family moment we had ever experienced. I could already imagine him announcing our names, watching Mason jump with excitement, and hearing the passengers laugh as we revealed ourselves.
