5% is like an appreciation to the agent and it's fair. it's the landlord or houseowner who should pay the agent for advertising the room. I am finding an accommodation like a customer buying a product, if someone leads me to a store where I can buy the product does that mean I pay 10% on what I bought? I can appreciate the person for helping me get the product as in the form of a tip then the owner of the product appreciate the person with a sale commission but Ghana is so messed up that the agent can insist on taking 10% else the landlord won't give the room to you.
