They slowly strip away your confidence, independence and belief in yourself until leaving feels more terrifying than staying. And the whole time, you’re often the one holding everything together. I know leaving isn’t as simple as walking out the door. I know how impossible it can feel when someone has spent years convincing you that you’re incapable of surviving without them.
