So what is a 25 year-old working a decent job supposed to do at this point? Just keep investing into anything that’s not the dollar that holds value? I’d like to buy gold but just like your last video said if you’re not buying it by the ounce, you’re out of luck I wanna look into PAXG, but is that really my only option?

Suddenly, the ONLY export that made the USA useful..... technology.... is being produced by China. You are done.

The suspension of the gold standard really just tried to keep the inevitable collapse in the dollar from happening. Eventually we are gonna need to prepare for a day when our wages are worthless.

I hear Americans complain about “gas” prices and god forbid eggs after I convert these record high prices to euros and it’s still cheaper damn near half the price sometimes then what I pay in Ireland, and your average wages are higher on average

We’re stuck with the dollar as the global currency, along with all the downsides.
We have Triffin dilemma where high global demand forces the issuing nation into rising debt plus including chronic trade deficits and a stronger exchange rate that hurts domestic manufacturing.

We are not the first empire to have the world reserve currency and then lose it, and nothing about that scenario is I'm any way connected to J.D.Vanve -- lots of other people have analyzed both the past examples and the impending prospects of our transition. The $40 trillion national debt is actually the more pressing problem, though of course it is driving the reserve currency erosion.

Id argue the US saw the implications of this vividly during 2020, when they couldn’t even make masks. Theyve been trying to reshore industries ever since at least the critical ones, (chips act, rare earth backstops, stakes in intel) but with a strong dollar that difficult. Economic statecraft is increasingly on the rise. Ironically, AI may be Americas savior as it forces the “laptop” class to retrain and hold positions in tangible goods

What about the gold resource from California??? You make no sense. Coal is still being mined in West Virginia. Same as gold in California.

the resource curse is caused by the resource running out. so our plan to avoid that is to... kill the resource voluntarily?

Exporting our entire supply chain was a political decision not an economic one based on dollar strength. People were told they were exchanging low value jobs for high value jobs and somehow everyone would be richer. Well it was BS and now the same rich who did it are now demanding that we little people pay for them to bring it back so we can compete with Chinese making 1/4 of our income. ANYTHING but tax the rich. ANYTHING but look out for the little guy first.

Compared to most politicians, Vance is Wright or More right than a lot of them. As you mentioned, he came from a genuine low class upbringing, he has tremendous insight and context.
