Reporting from Paris, Israeli "journalist" Neria Kraus, of i24 News (Channel 15), interviewed "Ali", suposedly a local resident whose parents are from Baghdad. Well, it turns out that "Ali" is actually Hezi Gangina, an Israeli tourist who lives in the South Tel Aviv neighborhood of Kfar Shalem, built on the ruins of the Palestinian village of Salama. “They don't care” — with a Jewish Israeli accent. 2. Baghdad — pronounced “Bag-dad" following the Hebrew pronunciation of the name, as he said it. 3. Zero — with a heavy Jewish Israeli accent, sounding like “Zegho.” 4. And then the giveaway at the end: she says “Shukran” (شكراً), meaning “thank you,” and the dude replies with “wa-rahmatuallah wa-barakatuh” (ورحمة الله وبركاته). This is a good one... here's the order: • As-salamu alaykum wa-rahmatuallah wa-barakatuh (السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته) — “Peace, God's mercy, and His blessings be upon you.” • The usual reply is Wa-alaykum s-salam wa-rahmatuallah wa-barakatuh (وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته) — “And upon you be peace, God's mercy, and His blessings.” But she said “Shukran” — thank you — and he replied with a phrase of blessing normally associated with a greeting. It's not the natural response to “Shukran” in Arabic. You'd normally hear “ʿAfwan” (عفواً), meaning “you're welcome,” or “al-afw” (العفو). #news #viral #paris
