Food in public schools requires funding. Healthy food, unfortunately, requires more funding, which a certain political party is adamantly against and believe that children shouldn’t be allowed to be fed

My school lunches in Germany were like real meals. Like soup with meatballs or pasta. It always contained vegetables.

its all fine and dandy for bigger schools but less funded schools had less to work with. less people in the kitchens, less funding for the better food which resulted in smaller portions and overall worse food even if it was "healthy". your school was lucky if they had those pizzas. and to think, the smaller portion of food might have been the only meal that kid ate.

the issue with America school lunch is American food culture. Most of these kids simply don't comprehend what a healthy normal well balanced meal is. In Asian eating vegetables is normal. In America most adults don't even eat vegetables and have no clue how to prepare them. It doesn't have to be that complicated, though. Maybe these kids should eat a European inspired meal with Turkey kielbasa, sauerkraut, potatoes, and some sort of normal sweet treat. Oh and the brain washing around milk doesn't help, just give the kids water.

it wasn't fully her fault, but with poorly schools nationwide are she should have realized they wouldn't be giving fresh or homemade food, just slop

The problem wasn’t what she tried to implement, it’s how the cheap system went about it. Now everything is more processed and packed with soy. Soy itself is good, but soy processed food is awful for you.

I wasn't really mad at that, I was made that most of the food at my school was COMPLETELY raw and NO ONE gave a shit. Like I'm talking raw porkchops, raw chicken, the whole nine yards

It WAS a bad change. Firstly schools didn't get more funding, so it was just a change of slop to another kind of slop. It required vegetables to be served but that doesn't mean they have to be good quality nor that kids would have to eat them leading to TONS of food waste. And "Unhealthy food" is just food with low neutrainants but high calories (carbs) which for kids really isn't as bad as you think. Personally, it just made me eat less vegetables over all, because eating school food made me dislike the same foods outside of school

Nobody was getting pizza every day. More of a Friday thing. You got chicken burgers, cheeseburgers, orange chicken, bean burritos, chili. Usually with a side of canned corn or green beans. At least that’s what they had in San Diego schools back in the early 2000s.

I never understood the problem. My public school ate things like oven baked lemon pepper and pizza poppers under Michelle Obama. If your school lunch became terrible it was probably because of your district poorly adjusting to the changes.

#You mean 'a dignified guy outfit' to handle a bad day, right? 😎 Even when you're in a bad mood, staying firm and confident is key. Keep it simple, neat, and stick to neutral colors. A good outfit can automatically earn respect. Here are some formulas I follow for a dignified look: 1. Smart Casual CEO Mode: Plain Oxford shirt in navy, black, or white with rolled sleeves, paired with khaki or black chino pants — no rips. Add loafers, Chelsea boots, or clean white sneakers, plus a leather watch and sunglasses. Calm but authoritative vibe. 2. Monochrome Minimalist: Fitted black T-shirt, black slim-fit jeans or dress pants, matching overshirt or chore jacket, and black boots or sneakers. Keeps you looking mysterious, focused, no drama. 3. Old Money Clean Look: Linen or polo in earth tones, beige dress pants, white sneakers or penny loafers, plus a leather belt and neat hair. Looks mature, classy, and unbothered. Remember: fit is king, dark/neutral colors give a firm look, neatness matters, and accessories should be minimal.
