@cbsmornings: For the first time in more than a decade, the nation’s leading OB/GYN professional organization is rewriting its advice on how perimenopause and menopause symptoms are treated, strongly supporting the use of hormone therapy. OB/GYN and menopause specialist Dr. Kameela Phillips shares what this change could mean for many women experiencing related symptoms. #health #perimenopause #menopause
Side note: I love that an educated, black woman was chosen to speak on this topic, especially given the amount of black women who are medically gaslit.

wonderful, but if insurance says no, then you can't get it. insurance determines your treatment now, not doctors...

I listened to all of the episodes on perimenopause and menopause from Ologies with Allie Ward!! It’s incredibly informative and it’s good to hear that changes are being made :)

The change is probably because men feel burdened by our hormonal changes. 🤷🏻♀️

Also, heightened anxiety, itching ears, fogginess, memory difficulty, rapid mood changes, and so many other symptoms. She mentioned going to a menopause specialist. This is tricky if your insurance doesn’t have someone with this exact training. Finding the right doctor who doesn’t ignore and or make you feel worst (shamed) is key to women’s health. Find the right doctor who helps you!💜

I started with perimenopause at 38. No one is too young. I couldn’t get a doctor to listen until I was 42. After going through 3-4 doctors who wouldn’t listen
